SAP today announced that its supervisory board has voted to extend the tenure of Dr. Vishal Sikka as Executive Board member of SAP AG through December 31, 2017. Sikka agreed to the extension of his tenure. Read the press release.

SAP today announced the appointment of Dr. Christoph Kollatz to executive vice president, SAP HANA, in the Technology and Innovation Platform Board Area, effective June 6, 2011. His primary focus will be on SAP In-Memory Appliance software (SAP HANA), a breakthrough innovation from SAP. Definitely not, and that’s one of the key messages SAP Executive Board Member Vishal Sikka hit upon during his opening keynote at the SAP Run Better tour in Boston. Sikka cleverly used in-memory computing technology and SAP In-Memory Appliance (SAP HANA) – both considered “disruptive” technologies in the IT world – to make his point. In case you haven’t heard, the lightning-fast processing speed of in-memory technology enables users to make more informed business decisions virtually on the fly. There’s hardly anything disruptive about that and Sikka drove this point home nicely with a smattering of high-level anecdotes, technical demos and yes, real customer proof points. (more…)

SAP today announced a new road map of in-memory applications that will help customers to become real-time businesses, transforming the way they think, plan and operate. Based on a foundation of SAP In-Memory Computing technology, SAP will  deliver a new reality for enterprise software. The company introduced entirely new types of applications that were unimaginable before in-memory computing, and plans to renew existing SAP solutions with in-memory computing technology. The announcement was made during the SAP Run Better Tour, being held today in Boston.
