A Blockbuster Monday of Sustainability Sessions is on Tap

 

In an earlier post, I talked about SAP’s sustainability focus at SAPPHIRE NOW this year, noting that the topic has continued its maturation within SAP and is now insinuated in the SAPPHIRE NOW program across multiple areas and sessions. With 25 sustainability sessions on Monday alone, as a physical or virtual attendee, you have a lot of options (check out the agenda builder here and search on “sustainability”). Even better, in an interview with Marty Etzel from SAP’s sustainability team, I learned that fully 80 percent of the sustainability sessions this year will feature SAP customers and partners sharing how they are seeing real-world business impact today through sustainable business practices.

A Bit More Serious Than Angry Birds: The SAP Cloud Strategy

Peter Lorenz, executive vice president of On Demand at SAP presented the SAP cloud strategy to a packed theater in the Small and Midsize Enterprise campus on the first morning of SAPPHIRE NOW. He stated that SAP fundamentally believes on premise, on demand and on device all come together in the cloud. “It’s not a separate thing. SAP Charts Its Journey to the Cloud

How will SAP support customers of all sizes and with various solutions on their journey to the cloud? A few days before the start of SAPPHIRE NOW, SAP’s annual customer conference, two SAP executives who are helping to chart this journey stopped by the SAP TV studio in Walldorf, Germany to discuss the company’s cloud strategy in detail. A Customer’s View of SAP’s Cloud and Virtualization Strategy

Minutes before the start of the final day of SAP Virtualization and Cloud Week 2011, Joseph Zeinoun, SAP Mentor and Solution Architect at Raytheon, shared his key takeaways from Kaj van de Loo’s keynote and offered up his very clearly articulated views on the role of virtualization and cloud computing.  A third-time participant at this annual event, Joseph clearly gets great value from attending.  This year, he wanted to learn more about SAP’s strategy in this space. “Kaj’s keynote on Tuesday answered a lot of those questions,” he said. As the event draws to a close, Joseph can already share some key learnings.
