Channel Partner Summit Closes With Palpable Buzz in Savannah

The SAP Channel Partner Summit Americas 2011 wrapped up today with SAP and its channel partners revved and ready for business in 2011. The excitement was palpable in Savannah, where the summit was held. In the keynote presentation given earlier today by Robert Courteau, president of SAP North America, he underscored how serious SAP is about making the channel successful. SAP demonstrated and delivered on that commitment throughout the summit, and the partners in attendance left energized, excited, educated and ready to help small and midsize enterprise customers “Run Better Together” with SAP solutions.

Day One Recap: SAP Channel Partner Summit Americas 2011

SAP Channel Partner Summit Americas 2011, held in Savannah, Ga., kicked off earlier today with a keynote address by Kevin Gilroy, senior vice president, SME North America, to the more than 680 attendees from the U.S. and Canada. The message: “Be bold. We are at a tipping point with new innovations in areas such as business analytics, cloud computing, in-memory computing and mobility. The opportunity before us and our channel partners is huge and we will never go back to the way business was done in the past. One-hundred percent of our new SME business in North America will be channel-led.”

Baylor College of Medicine Cures IT Ailments with Help From SAP Communities

Do I have an unhealthy obsession with Baylor College of Medicine? I’m starting to think so. I paid them a personal visit a few years ago and have been tracking their vital statistics ever since. I had a chance to run another check up recently (yes, I love puns) and I am happy to report that their current IT prognosis, which involves the installation of a materials management application, running on SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1, looks good. SAP has reached another key milestone in its mission to harness the transformative power of in-memory computing with the availability of SAP High-Performance Analytic Appliance (SAP HANA) software. This first version of SAP HANA is the result of a robust co-innovation program between SAP and key partners and customers.
