SAP today announced two new solutions for business process integration and new ways to consume SAP software: SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration software and SAP NetWeaver Gateway technology. With these releases, SAP is making its orchestration vision — integrated alignment across the entire IT landscape — a reality in the market. Read the press release.

As promised just prior to SAPPHIRE NOW 2011 from Orlando, SAP today announced that the new release of SAP Solution Manager is now generally available to help customers better orchestrate their IT landscapes.

At its SAPPHIRE NOW event in Orlando in May, SAP announced the planned release of the first standalone version of SAP NetWeaver Gateway in the second quarter of 2011. This important technology release enables access to SAP applications from any environment and any device, by any developer. The release opens the door for millions of developers to use development tools of their choice to create highly innovative apps connecting to SAP software. This is a major milestone SAP’s strategy to enable customers, partners and variety of developers to extend the reach of SAP business applications.

The drumbeat around SAP NetWeaver 7.3 began in October 2010 at SAP TechEd in Berlin, when SAP announced that the first full release of the technology platform in five years was being made available to a first wave of customers. In the intervening months, SAP worked hand in glove with customers worldwide on more than 150 ramp-up projects. The efforts came to fruition on May 30, 2011:  SAP NetWeaver 7.3 is now available!

The notion that energy savings can be achieved through SAP NetWeaver was first raised during the SAP Influencer Summit in December 2010 by SAP Chief Sustainability Officer Peter Graf. He used similar data to show how SAP development takes advantage of energy savings possibilities, which results in lower costs for operating our software and reducing carbon emissions. (more…)

Expanding their long-term partnership with a joint base of thousands of customers, SAP and Microsoft Corp today announced their plans to improve integration between SAP software and Microsoft virtualization and cloud computing technologies.
